An illustrated children’s story that highlights the dangers of comparison, the loss of reality caused by social media, and the beauty of differences, reminding the reader that what we see online is often distorted rather than real
Lou is an illustrated children’s story presented in a 14-page magazine format. We were responsible for the entire project, including the story, illustrations, and layout design.
The story explores the impact of social media, particularly on people who are still in the process of discovering who they are. Lou lives happily in her yellow house until one day she receives a mobile phone and becomes immersed in social media. There, she finds only pink, tall, and identical figures, which leads her to question her own appearance. In an attempt to fit in, Lou tries to change herself, with painful and destructive consequences.
Eventually, Lou steps away from the screen and goes outside, where she discovers a world full of diverse shapes, colors, and creatures. Through this journey, the story highlights the danger of comparison, the loss of reality caused by social media, and the beauty of differences, reminding the reader that what we see online is often distorted rather than real.
